When overlay welding on S355 base material, a crack-free deposit with hardness of 55 HRC is already obtained with the first layer, this increases to a level of 57-62 HRC with the following layers.
The full weld overlay thickness will contribute to the wear resistance leading to a higher service life of the repaired components until next maintenance becomes necessary.
