A welding helmet which features the world’s first ADF with a non-reactive light shade of 2 and the highest levels of dust protection from a TH3 PAPR system – the ultimate welding package for colour, clarity and comfort.
Meets TH3 standards which only allow a maximum particulate ingress of 0.2%. Further protection from organic, inorganic, acid vapours and gases is also available by adding the optional A1B1E1 combination filter.
With light transmission at a staggering 31% in non-reactive state, this improved clarity is the closest thing to looking through a clear glass window – in true colour definition. The weld pool can be viewed like never before making the Panoramaxx CLT ideal for TIG welding and intricate welding processes.
Traditionally, increasing the welders peripheral vision meant increasing the size of the auto darkening filter. Although a simple solution, it made the helmet larger and heavier, compromising comfort and reducing the time the operator could wear the helmet before neck strain and fatigue set in. By designing an auto darkening filter with a nose cut out, Optrel is able to bring the ADF closer to the eyes, enlarging the field of vison by an incredible 600% without adding any extra weight or size, creating the Panoramaxx concept.
Shadetronic ® The patented Optrel Shadetronic technology features on the entire Panoramaxx range of welding helmets. It is of critical importance that the correct shade is selected in order to provide the adequate protection when welding. Unfortunately, this process is often neglected meaning that shade levels are never adjusted, compromising performance and safety. Shadetronic sensors permanently measure the intensity of the welding arc, regulating the level of protection automatically across the entire range of shade levels from 4-12 . Optimal protection is achieved without ever needing to adjust the welding helmet. Shadetronic technology is ideal for hot start at the beginning or during the crater fill, slope out at the end of the welding process, or simply when welding with different current strengths.
Fadetronic is patented Optrel technology which manages the ADF’s changes from dark to light after the welding process has been completed. This eliminates the unpleasant afterglow associated with slope out or high-ampere applications. Eye fatigue is significantly reduced thanks to the fluid opening of the display, allowing the eyes to adapt back to light more gradually.
The Optrel Panoramaxx range has a total of 5 arc sensors – one central and four corner mounted, ensuring the auto darkening glare shield is activated and deactivated perfectly, even in the most difficult lighting conditions and positions during welding.
Like most Optrel welding helmets, the products in the Panoramaxx series have a grinding mode which is easily activated by a robust and well-protected pressure switch. When in grinding mode, the auto darkening filter remains in non-reactive light shade, allowing sanding and grinding tasks to be undertaken. Once the ADF is re-activated the helmet is ready for welding, thus your Optrel Panoramaxx becomes a true multifunctional work safety device.
The unique and environmentally friendly Optrel re-charge energy concept ensures that the welding helmet remains charged and ready for use. Thanks to the latest solar technology, a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery is recharged by welding light or ambient light. In addition, the battery can also be charged directly with any USB charger via a micro-USB interface. Battery replacement is avoided and the environment is protected.
Sensitivity Function prevents the ADF lens from being prematurely activated in certain lighting environments or if a number of welders are working in close proximity. The Super High sensitivity setting can used if the welding current is extremely low preventing the ADF from activating.
The shells of the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets are designed using aerodynamic deflective technology. Due to their smoke and particle repellent shape, the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets can be used during overhead welding applications.
Optrel IsoFit Headgear
Standard inside all versions of Panoramaxx welding helmets is Optrel IsoFit; the ultimate in wearer comfort. The IsoFit cradle is the only head band available that enables the wearer to adjust width, length and height simultaneously, with the turn of a single rotary wheel. An ingenious cable hoist system expands and contracts to give a glove like fit, applying equal pressure at every contact point. This ensures there is no pinching, slipping or chafing, offering unrivalled comfort and practicality.
IsoFit is the perfect companion if you have to weld for long periods of time or need to work in multiple positions and want the helmet to remain in place. Despite the headband or cradle being the interface between the helmet and the wearer, it is often overlooked by manufacturers and users alike. The Optrel IsoFit headgear system combines technology and comfort, resulting in improved productivity and safety in welding applications.
Weight of only 780 grams.

E3000X PAPR
Many tasks such as grinding, arc welding, routing and sanding, produce large amounts of fine dust particles, which can cause long term respiratory illnesses. Other applications such as spraying, painting or working with solvents can also be harmful and therefore need protecting against. When paired with the correct filter, the Optrel E3000X PAPR system is a highly effective, comfortable and economical solution for operators working in these environments where respiratory protection is essential.
The Optrel E3000X powered air purifying respirator works by using a high powered motor to draw air through a high efficiency filter. Clean air is supplied to the operator through a breathing tube and compatible headtop from within the Optrel range. This positive pressure air delivery inside the selected headgear prevents any outside contaminants from entering, thus the wearer is protected. A major advantage of positive pressure air delivery is that it negates any face fit testing as the mask is not sealed to the face, breathing is also easier as the motor is pulling air through the filter and not the lungs. A continual flow of cooling air – up to 240 litres per minute, improves wearer comfort and increases productivity, especially during manual labour.
Unlike many PAPR systems which work to the TH2P standard, allowing 2% of particulates to enter the mask, the Optrel range of powered air purifying respirators meet the highest level of dust and particulate protection available – TH3P. This elevated protection allows just 0.2% of particulate ingress offering 10 X better filtration when compared to some other powered respirators.
During welding, an increase in ozone concentrations can cause an unpleasant odour resulting in headaches or even nausea, this can be alleviated by adding the optional Mountain Breeze odour filter or A1B1E1 combination filter.
Should the pre or main filter become blocked during operation, an audible alarm is sounded and the fan speed is reduced to the next lowest setting in order for immediate works to continue. Failure to address the saturated filter will eventually trigger a shut off device in the system.
